The work combines handicraft and modern technique. The objects have first been drawn by hand. After that the machine has carved them and printed them with the wood laser. Using wood as the material highlights the equality and the degeneration of the emerging symbols. Hands, plants and trees appear and disappear – each phase showing up one at a time.
Carving as a technique is symbolic. As if the material had been marked by imprinting meticulous traces and details on it, like memories or signs of life. One by one the details will vanish. At the end you can hardly find anything else but the outlines.
